Our policy is simple: all cats are treated with kindness, be they feral or domestic. You will be visited by one of our fully trained trapping teams, who will use only approved trap cages. We never leave cats/kittens in the traps for more than a few minutes after being trapped. They are transferred to small cages and covered with a blanket to keep them calm. We never leave traps set and unattended, especially overnight. Your cats will then be transported to the veterinary surgery and neutered, flea and worm treated. Cats are returned the same day. Kittens under 4 months can sometimes be taken and socialised by members of the group, space permitting. |

Due to injury, temperament or age some of our horses cannot be re-homed so Greatwood cares for them into their retirement in our sanctuary. We currently have 51 hoses in our care and have re-homed hundreds over the years. For those horses that cannot be re-homed, our educational progamme for children with special needs, called Horse Power, now provides them with a useful occupation. In 2006 the Charities Commision approved a new objective for Greenwood to develop and deliver unique programmes of education via the interaction with horses. The Horse Power was developed and using the horses in our sanctuary helps over 300 children with special educational needs per year at Greatwood. The number of children this programme can reach will increase significantly in 2011/2012, with Horse Power being delivered not only to schools in Wiltshire, but also in Somerset and Dorset via partnerships with Millfield School and Bryanston who have been trained and equipped by Greatwood, allowing Horse Power to touch more and more lives. |

Most of our work involves moving dogs from put to sleep or emergency situations. We secure rescue spaces for these dogs with reputable rescues such as the Dogs Trust, Blue Cross and RSPCA, together with a number of excellent smaller rescues and breed rescues. We will also transport them to the rescue and cover many thousands of miles every month. We also take in dogs for rehoming ourselves via a network of fantastic and dedicated foster homes. All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. |

I keep Hermann's my self and I am always able to add females to the group easily but boys are always a little more troublesome......but that does not mean that we wouldn't be able to find him a forever loving home with another family! All will be done to either put you in contact with the right information for you...or to give your shelled companion the love and care you know they deserve, so please get in contact if you either need advice or a new home for your companion. All my tortoise have the neccessary home that they deserve and are outside in the garden for at least 12 hours a day and then brought into secure area at night time for security. All fed on a weed,plant and flower diet with the correct supplementation of nutrobal,limestone flour and cuttle fish bone.All hibenated every year. We have one of the best vets in the country here in Leeds too in Holly House vets, they specialize in tortoise care, and are only a few minutes drive away should the need ever arrive. All of our tortoise are treated like one of the family and we will do everything in our power to make sure they get the best care possible. |
